»SECRETS« is the fourth album of the Cologne formation Stone Diamond. In the remote Ardennes Gum Studios (Marvin Gaye, Chet Baker, BAP, Toten Hosen) an album was created, which combines different genre elements to a large, wild-harmonic whole. Rugged rock guitars, atmospheric sounds, earwig hooks, insane lyrics … Supported by illustrious guests like Rhani Krija (Sting, Sarah Connor, Xavier Naidoo) and parts of the Seeed brass section, cleverly produced by bassist / vocalist Cy Alamouti, the trio has created a sound cosmos, where not only grooving like hell, but feeling and hardness enter into a highly turbulent relationship. Funky grooves, power pop, ballads without beats, rock mercilessly. Hey Louise, I Am Tomorrow, Anyone, Oh Lord. Thumbs up and smiley for the “Real Men In A Digital World”

The Diamonds are growing up for real this time. Their new and third album is a great one, because they don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore. They just play, kick ass and sound great!
The former trio turned into a quartet. Cy, Pete, Marc and the „new boy“ Zaki just got photographed by Thomas Rabsch, who has been working with acts such as Rammstein, Foo Fighters and the Beastie Boys. Listening to DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU THINK is like meeting old friends. Stone Diamond are writing songs, which you seem to already know by heart when you hear them for the second time — it’s like meeting a long lost friend. The sound is vintage, analog and real. Zakis guitar adds a psychedelic side to the more complex arrangements. The two guitars make the band sound deeper and more diverse.
DONT BELIEVE was recorded live and analog at legendary Dierks-Studios by Producer Ulli Pallemanns. The studios, ruined by massive water damage a couple of years ago, seemed to be the perfect spot…

Stone Diamond, the rock chameleon
Cy, Marc and Peter started out as a teenage garage band with musical influences ranging from glam rock, metal to funk, soul and jazz. Now they have reached a new level: Phoenix!
“We are continually developing our style to create something new. Hence the title Phoenix,” says singer and bassist Cy. “That also applies when you compare it to our last record, which was way more blues rock-oriented. The new sound is different, more vibrant, and the arrangements are very modern. But it’s definitely a Stone Diamond record.”
